Woo.... check out Perris Records and the interview they just did with Jason.
Check out the
newest DT site... the place to find Dangerous Toys
MERCHANDISE...
Also check out the Marathon Enterprise site
for merchandise and the R-tist album.
Also... check out a page that Jason turned me on to.... Dangerous Toys Domain,
probably the most complete of DT pages. Check their for info on a 1999
release of a live album.... Dangerous Toys is one of my favorite bands, and they have been since the first time I saw the video for "Scared" on HBB. It can always be said that this band remained true to themselves and never did what was considered "selling out". These guys didn't glam themselves up with make-up or pull a "look at us we're so alternative" when they could have, they just let their music stand before their image. Everything's bigger in Texas, and if they are any example, its a helluva lot better too!!
HEY!! PAY ATTENTION!!
After finally
downloading this page from a 28.8 modem... I'd decided to move the
pictures on the page to the end of the page. If you want, you can sit and
wait for them to load. If not... you're missing some nice photos! Such
as... all the pictures direct from Mike's photo
stash!!! Check it out... some GREAT photos.
This is me and Jason the last time they came to town... which was much too long ago!!!
Jason has emerged from hiding... check out the DT Merchandise page to find out how to get some cool-ass Toys stuff.....
Wow... look who's emerged.... Mike Watson (former bassist of DT). He's being nice enough to let me stick this on my page....
9-16-97 Hey all- I got this note from ex-DT bass player Mike Watson
lastnight, and he wanted me to post this on the website for him:
Hi to Gina and all you DT mutants out there!!! First off, this is not
a hoax. It's really me and I'm alive and well! I was
goofing off at work, as usual, when I found your webpage. I was AMAZED at
the amount of people in the
guestbook who are still into Toys. It makes me proud to have been a part
of something that has touched so many
people, even as far away as Japan and Sweden!! To everyone out there who
has wondered why I quit the band,
here's my side of the story....
I was seriously burned out! We had just finished making "Pissed" and
were
about to go out on tour for a couple of
months and it dawned on me that I Just couldn't do it! I was almost dead
broke (to everyone out there who think that
all "rock stars" are raking in the bucks, THINK AGAIN!!!),I was going to
lose my day job (and ONLY source of
income)because of the touring, I was in danger of losing my second
relationship, and most of all, it just wasn't fun
anymore. I weighed the pros and cons and made, what I still think, was the
right decision. I went back to school and
got my degree in CAD and 3-D design, cut my hair (I do regret that) and
now I'm working in the semi-conductor
field. I'm still friends with everyone in the band and I whole heartedly
support the band. I mean hey, they're my bros!
Don't get me wrong, I do miss the good ole' days and I'm starting some new
projects, one of which is an AC/DC
cover band(watch out Jason!!) and the other is something that Mark
Geary(Toys' drummer)and I are working on.
And yes, the hair is growing back. So that's pretty much it! I'm happy,
I'm single(long story), and I'm very much alive.
I'd be happy to correspond with anybody whose curious or just wants to say
hi!My e-mail address is
michaelh.watson@amd.com
Thanks to all you loyal people out
there who
didn't trade in your Toys CDs and jump on
the AternaCrap bandwagon.
C-YA!
Mike Watson
May 15, 1997-- Yes, there is some news about the guys to be had. Dangerous Toys are currently writing songs for their fifth album, and although it's going slowly, it is at least going!! My personal hope is that they'll have an album done just in time to compete with every other band that seems to be slowly picking themselves out of the ashes... but hopefully they won't keep us TOO long
This is how many have stopped by since May 15, 1997...
Last major overhaul done on May 6, 1998.
